About this deal

The lever mount to the rail was too tight on my mil spec rail out of the package and is a bit tricky to adjust but has a huge range of adjustment and can be done without tools and once set it you are good to go for that rail. Features the original KMW "Pod-Loc™" to easily lock and unlock canting motion, with adjustable lever position for optimal user comfort. EXTREMELY well built, the quality of the materials you can appreciate the second you mount it to your weapon. The V8 Atlas Bipod features independently-adjustable legs, with five positions ranging from 5" to 9", and offers up to 180° of front-to-back adjustment. When not in use, with the legs folded towards muzzle, they stay up nice and straight and do not interfere with forward grip.

The tier one is, in my opinion, looser and flimsier and not as well engineered as one would expect from a company with a reputation as theirs.Mfr Part: BT10LW17 810040220104 Lightweight, aluminum bipod features durable stainless steel locking components and grippy rubber feet to give you a rugged, sure-footed shooting platform. It looks as if the Atlas locks in the folded position as well as the position you set it in and so might answer my problem with the Tier one, but are there are factors that other people have found with the Atlas that have put them off and what were they? Legs are not spring-loaded in any way, as in they do not auto-retract or snap up like Harris bipods. The tolerances are tight, the fit and finish are perfect, the controls are flawless and quiet, the links are battle-strong, the movement is precise, and the function is impeccable.

It is comprised of 6061-T6 aluminum that is Mil-Spec Type III hard coat anodized and have heat treated stainless steel components.

Atlas Bipods are unique in that their legs move independently, able to be arranged in a 45° position either forward or backward, traditional 90° position, and locking securely in 5 positions through a 180° arc. With the option to effectively provide a variety of bipods in one unit, the purchase is worthwhile for shooters with multiple rifles. You can have the legs perpendicular to the rifle (straight down), or angled forwards to dig into the ground as you push into the gun to ‘load’ the bipod. Founded by Frank Galli in 2000, Sniper’s Hide has been offering informational videos, podcasts, and other support to its users in one location. The Atlas bipod was introduced in 2010 with several patented features including the novel multiple positioning legs, Pan and Cant in a light weight strong package has found favor in civilian, law enforcement and military riflemen around the world.
